History of Numerology |

Numerology is an ancient science
going back to Chaldea, Egypt, Creece, China and India. It is based on the study of numbers
concerning their hidden meaning and symbolism. It was
discovered
by
Pythagoras, the Greek
mathematician and philosopher
who established a university in 532
BC. Pythagoras (who
lived from 569-470 BC) sought to free the mind of
ignorance and discover the meaning of life and love. The
university was the
worlds first co-educational institution and no distinction was made
against race, color, or gender!
The actual origins of
numerology predate Pythagoras being an old Hebrew Kabbala. In the twentieth century,
the old science seems to magically reappear in the form of a
series of books published from 1911-1917 by L. Dow Balliett.
Also, it
was helped along in the 30s by Florence Campbell, and within the
next few decades a wealth of literature was available to the
public. Indeed, if you look at the past 90 years, it would seem
that the science has moved very rapidly. But perhaps all of this
was known at a much earlier time, and it was just hiding from us
for a while! (History tends to repeat itself as we move once
again to find this acceptance.) More and more people are
learning about numerology and Biblical Numerology. It really
is becoming of interest in today's age of spiritualism!
